the present is always the best year for music. you can listen to all the old music you want (hopefully remastered if it's pre-80s) and you get all the good songs from now. if you vote anything other than current time period you're confused

i don't think you understand the poll; it is implicit that we're voting on which decade had the best music coming out at the time. also some remasters are good but a lot just kill dynamic range among other things that made the initial release decent
