Suggestion: Death Rigging

about 5 years

The way death rigging works is that the creator of the setup gets to reveal a specific role after a certain turn has passed or choose when that specific role dies at a specific time.

Here is an example. A game mode starts during the day with a single baker being the only role revealed. Nighttime comes and no matter who the mafia kills that night, the baker gives their bread away and dies. Death rigging can also be used to rig a single role to be specific in a closed roles setup similar to the game modes played in sandbox. This will allow for specific roles to always be in the random role pick and for them to be rigged in the case they're over powered, such as cultist all dying after the third night.

These rigs are completely made by the maker of the setup, meaning that I'm not suggesting baker die night one or cultist die night three, but, anybody who joins the setup can see that it's "death rigged" and can also check in what ways it's death rigged.

moonunit says

LastProphet, the butterfly, has come into contact with anthrax and/or gluten. The doctor says only 3 days to live! The game has been rigged!

Question: Can the doctor save someone whose death is rigged? Will there be an "intervention" setting for this?

The death rigged isn't one doc can save. It's not suppose to be either. Doc saving a role would just waste a turn for the doc to give a day of wifom or not. The idea here is that players will lose a significant advantage they have if they fail to play well. Think of it like this.

Cult has three days before they death rig die. If cult members die and cult doesn't get enough control throughout the game, they could have won but instead they automatically would lose all chances of winning.

If a celebrity dies after day one, then they have to take all the roles being claimed with them to the grave after leading a vote day one, forcing the use of a specific strategy or losing the game.

This mechanic would be useful for players that have a higher skill level, as they'll understand the mechanics rammifications.

One more example. A blacksmith is going to die in two days. If the blacksmith knows they're going to die, they can claim out loud. Claiming out loud day one might be a bad idea, however, the blacksmith can give a vest and if mafia kills them day one, they potentially wasted an extra kill because they killed the blacksmith when the blacksmith would naturally have died anyway. If the setup is designed for village to be at a large advantage from the start because of this, mafia could find themselves in trouble for going for the blacksmith day one.

New role:

Air traffic controller:

Each game, the air traffic controller has the option to open one international flight.

"You have opened a flight for 3 passengers in the lobby!"

Once the flight it full of X players from the lobby, it takes off and then the air traffic controller promptly causes the plane to crash in his village.

"A plane has crash landed in your town and three survivors emerge."
