I told a friend to play the other day but he told me there were no games and only like 4 people in the chat lobby and now he won't come back cuz he's just on Roblox and r/survivor discord. Says this place seemed like a ghost town.
Seems like there's no more trophy games and not as many games midweek? Looked at the ORGs and the only one that seems like it's not flopping & boring is the Tahiti one.
I have been checking in here every once and a while but seems like most people are more interested in chatting and forums than playing games. Things aren't very active anymore. I've been playing Roblox and it's way more fun and active all the time. Theres even a Survivor discord group from reddit that organizes mini ORG games too that only last 2-3 hours not 5-6 hours.
Anyway, just wanted to get your thoughts on what happened here? Or ideas for how to make things better?
A lot of it has to do with school starting back up for a lot of people. As people tend to get adjusted to their new schedules from the break, the lobby takes a dip in activity and gradually increases until there's a break, where there's a spike. Any added hosting would be greatly appreciated, but the lobby's not "dead" just because you wanted to play a game and no one is there. That's pretty normal for a day in the middle of the week :>
I have more free time on Wednesdays and since that's not the most jam packed days I can start doing "Wadhia Wednesdays." I see someone is already hosting tonight, but maybe next week I can start something like this:
Here's my idea. 5-8 people: TWL, 9-13 people: TAR, 14+ Survivor/BB. That way people know there will be something satisfying to play on Wednesdays, but the game mode just depends on how many people show up. I can just host at the same time each week and make sure the games are run fast and smooth so that people don't have to stay up toooo late midweek. What do you think?
EMBB7 will have an....ummmm....unique place in lobby history. I wouldn't base experience of EM ORGs in general off of it.

I promise Ill be more active after I finish my finals and yeah, supply and demand is an economic model of price determination in a market that postulates that the unit price for a particular good will vary until it settles at a point where the quantity demanded will equal the quantity supplied, resulting in an economic equilibrium for price and quantity transacted. At the moment people don't really have much time to play games so there aren't any games being hosted but that will surely change in the future. The fact that you sleep every night doesn't mean you're dead every night does it? in april, we had a massive wave of players join the site from reddit. that's probably why you saw a high amount of activity.
EMVivor will likely be more entertaining than EMBB because less people have played EMVivor; EMBB is on its 7th season, so a lot of people in the lobby have already played it. the host team is also really lit and we have some good stuff planned :)
it's possible, i'd wager you'll have better luck thursday-sunday than monday-wednesday
i 1000% promise you emvv4 will be more entertaining than embb7 and i'm not just saying that because i'm the head host

@Jack thanks for the thoughtful response. I joined last April and it just seemed very active until I left. But I guess it makes sense that it depends on the time of year how active the lobby is. In the time I was here I hosted a few games and got some positive feedback about it. There was anon game I hosted once that seemed to go over really well. If I hosted a midweek game like on a Monday or Wednesday do you think there would be enough people to play?
@Ally thanks for your response. Do you think EMVivor will be more entertaining than EMBB? After reading that Monte guy's post I wouldn't want to regret spending so much time playing in a game that other people are just floating through

lobby games: it's a busy time of year. we've generally been a small community and sometimes there are slow periods.
trophy games: i think one will be happening soon! they're meant to be a rare occurrence, and we also had to change up our trophy system.
i've been here for 4 years this lobby has always had peaks and valleys in terms of activity. right now people are getting back into school mode and games aren't as common. believe me, a game being hosted every night is the exception to the norm. usually during the school year you'd see games on the weekends and maybe a small game during the week if you were lucky. as the school year drones on and people get bored games will pop up in more frequency, and when the summer comes the lobby will be operating at its highest levels once again.
the sky isn't falling just because there hasn't been a game this week. people wanna fix that? host more. it's as simple as that
