Alignment Thread

about 8 years

How do you view yourself?

That's the main question this thread is about. Who are you? Who do you think you are? A simple thread for a simple community. Chuckle.

In all seriousness, however. Lots of people spend too much time looking at others, and nowhere near enough time looking at themselves. But that's what's actually important - who you are, and not what your environment is. Do you truly know yourself? Do you know what you want, who you are?

Let me post these. http://www.easydamus.com/alignmenttest.html

http://www.gotoquiz.com/classical_alignment_test_2

Now, I'm sure some of you are familiar with these tests. While the result is obviously not meant to specify who you are, it can often give insight about what you think, or your morality.

So that's what this thread is for. Discussing who you are. Maybe some test results, whether you agree, or totally not. Try to get to know yourself a little better, and others might do so too. Ciao.

I should be asking you to elaborate on why exactly you think you're a variation of "evil". The evil categories are, for the most part, fictitious is definition. Unless you're a cold, calculated murderer/deceiver that is a mastermind at manipulation and successfully gets away with plots against others for your own gain and yadda yadda. See? The evil categories aren't very realistic and/or extremely limited in their actual population size. I think this might be alongside the topic of thinking you're one thing when in reality you're another.

@Coconutnut
Ofc I read Sishen's alignment choice before I criticized it. And I never said the evil alignments CAN'T exist. I said they're much smaller in populace and more fictitious or for entertainment purposes.

@Floor

Lawful evil can excist since their actions are considerated immoral but within legal boundaries, what you are talking about is chaotic evil, which is litteraly doing evil not only for no good reason but also illegaly.

You seem to be new at this, but it's not hard to understand. You should read what good/neutral/evil means for the allignments and what meaning the word before it has. You can find this on the website you did the test on.

People that actually think they're one of the evil alignments are just lol. If you actually think your alignment is evil you wouldn't be on this site, that's for sure. Most realistically labeled people will be a variation of true/lawful/chaotic-good/neutral.

elaborate?

I got chaotic good for the first test and Neutral for the second test

I don't really go out of my way to break laws or rules. If I intentionally went out of my way to break rules as you're implying that wouldn't be very chaotic neutral.

I rolled chaotic evil not because I am, but because it has to exist (i.e. no one else voted for it and I wanted to be first)

Nobody knew who I was until I put on the hat.

Your Result: Lawful Evil

You are mainly for the laws, but those laws are not exactly based on freedom. You likely support slavery, or at least that "the boss owns the worker". You may be a servant of some evil overlord, or a cult leader. Chances are, if you are working for anyone, their guidelines are diabolical enough for your tastes.

Your Result: Lawful Good

What is normally taken as pure good. You will uphold any righteous laws, but put morality and ethics above any human made code or law. You might serve a higher spirit, or be a knight. If you are working for an evil villain, chances are you either think they are good or are doing it due to blackmail or hostages.

Lawful Neutral- A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

i've most often gotten neutral good, followed by chaotic good and chaotic neutral lol i guess i really am an edgelord

i got different ones on both... although some of the question on both of these tests were kind of ridiculous and didn't make sense unless given a certain situation (that is only implied, and that was only sometimes) ANYWAY....

CLASSICAL ALIGNMENT TEST
Neutral Good - 88%
You are more of a modern kind of good. You are willing to break or use the law to defeat those you see as evil, and, though you prefer the truth, you are willing to lie to get those who are evil imprisoned or exposed. If you are working for an evil villain, you most likely are using him as a way to stop greater evils.

ALIGNMENT TEST
True Neutral (the description is quite long so i will save the headache)

I am more inclined to believe I am neutral good (i actually scored 23 on neutral good and 24 on true neutral for this test so its 50//50), because I actually care a great deal about most things, and follow my own moral code.

Lawful evil, but I did this test some time ago before I got into dnd, also note that neutral in this test does not mean that you do neither good nor evil. Neutrality in the allignments means that in some occasions you act good and in others you act evil. In other words, it means that you are not consistent.

Also for easydamus for ALL allignments it says "... is the best allignment you can be because..." (yeah I know it sucks)

True Neutral- A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.
