ok so basically i don't know really what to do

(this is all online) i'll have days where i am just ridiculous and win 7 or 8 in a row and then ill have days where i legit lose like 18 out of 20 games. i've beaten someone as high as 1550 and lost to someone as low as 976. it's really weird and i don't know many openings or anything concrete i just kinda play as i go, what i wanna know is why am i so good on some days and absolute trash on other (most) days

my standard elo is 1130 right now on chess.com, it was over 1300 at one point. i don't do blitz/lightning

also i find i'm much better irl, and worse online.

i wanna get better, but i don't really know how. any suggestions?

so i learned a few things then started a new account to see how i'd fare from the starting point and i'm (currently) at 1519 elo, lol. we'll see how long that lasts though, thanks for da help

real life chess is usually a better indicator of your talent, as it's usually easier to get invested in

basically you're already in a decent position if you're winning through spur-of-the-moment play, just read up on counter-strategies and you should see improvement

if you don't have a standard moveset or opener you'll continue to be inconsistent because you're not going to be able to anticipate your opponent's moves. as far as the ELO goes you're probably realistically in the ~1100s with off-chances to beat higher ranks with strokes of luck, but it's not something you'll be able to do on a regular basis

maybe the guy who was 976 was a filthy sandbagger to do well in them low ranked tournaments

i just realized that last night or two days ago or whenever i was fried i won a lot of games. maybe i should smoke weed before i play
