Hey guys, been awhile. I've been busy but I have finally had time to sift through all of my pictures and figured I would share some stuff I saw while snorkeling in Panama, bc I saw some really cool stuff.

Basically, we went to an island in both the Caribbean and the Pacific. The island in the Caribbean was inhabited by indigenous people, the Kuna, and the island in the Pacific was uninhabited, except for a really rich dude who owns the island and people who work at the research facility there.

Here are some pictures, I had to link them because of how slow the page is if they're all embedded.

Some Devil Rays doing flips n stuff

Chasing a Triaenodon obesus (White tipped reef shark)

Woke up a Eretmochelys imbricata (hawksbill sea turtle)

This Echidna nocturna (palenose moray) almost bit me

Aetobatus narinari (Spotted eagle ray)just cruising along like he just don't care

Near death experience with a crocodile, we were about to go snorkeling there....til we saw a crocodile pop up.

Anyway, these are just some of the many pictures/videos I have.

If you guys want to know anything let me know

Looks like it was a very fun time! I have a few friends who are planning on going into marine biology, and are going to Mount Desert Island to study! I have a huge love for animals, and I must say I am extremely jealous! Looks as if it was a gorgeous place to visit, even if it was for school.

it was a lot of fun, and definitely really gorgeous! If you love animals, I highly recommend zoology or a field like it because you will have an insane amount of opportunities to work with animals!

This looks like the kind of bug that would be befitting of both of our names... Have you ever seen a weta? Slightly more terrifying than this.

I went to Panama a few years ago for Volunteer work.

I hated driving in Panama City. It was the worst traffic any human can possibly endure and witness...

Beautiful country though. I visited the Gringo District in Panama City while I was there. I only stayed 3 total nights in Panama City and I definitely did not stay in the tourist section... The gringo (tourist) section is much different than the rest of the country. Pretty sad when you think about that...

Yeah, I was in panama city for three nights (the first night, 5th night and 10th night) and it is SO weird how they honk their horn as like a "go ahead" rather than a "F U"

but yeah, we stayed right across from the university of panama city or something. The gas station empanadas were to die for.

The final project for this class was a portfolio that connected 4+ photos we took with a common element. Mine was venom and poison:

Oh my gosh...this is amazing. I've never gone snorkeling because I'm too afraid a shark will engulf me or something, but I definitely want to try it someday

Sharks only eat humans when their food source (s) is/are depleted (see: South Africa Shark Attacks 1957)

That's a theory, but they also attack/eat humans when:

1) they mistake humans as prey (humans on surf boards look a lot like seals)

2) they mistake the electrical/mechanical signals from a spear gun shot as prey

3) spear fishers hang their caught fish by their belt and the blood attracts them.

well I chased some pretty big sharks (5-7 feet) and they didn't engulf me, haha they swam away (as seen in the second GIF)

Definitely do it. It's the best thing ever. Don't worry about silly things like sharks eating you, if you go just off of beaches you should be safe either way though.
