If there were....

Welcome to the new debate club!

If there were two guys on the moon and one hit the other on the head with a rock would that be hecked up or what?

Discuss the intricacies of the action of swinging such a rock, why it was or was not a terrible action towards the other guy, and whether this action was indeed, hecked up or not hecked up.

Was that hecked up?

Not really hecked up imo since the rock won't hurt

If you account for the lack of gravity, the rock is weightless (but it still has a definite mass, which doesn't matter) and will not injure other guy

not very hecked up

f=m*a
(force = mass*acceleration)
Mass is what matters, not weight. Would be pretty hecked up. That astronaut ain't gonna survive.

It's not about the injuries it's about the actions. If I shot you while you were wearing a bullet proof vest, would you be happy?

But even on earth people play around by throwing things at each other and can take it in stride. It's not about anyone being affected positively, it's about no one being affected negatively. If someone throws a rock at you and you have a helmet on, you might be peeved and maybe start a rock battle, but it wouldn't really be hecked up.

there are many people i'd like to hit on the head with a moon rock... i feel as if his actions were justified because who did he hit with a rock?

we don't know.. it could be the man who slept with his wife, the guy who hit his dog while driving, that one guy who won't stop farting in class and not admitting to it. the possibilities are infinite, and it is very likely that the thrower was fed up with an injustice that the throwee committed.

and seeing as the moon is not a u.s. territory (look up the moon treaty if you don't believe me), the man who threw the rock cannot be charged with battery.. in fact, it may be possible that the aliens who live on the moon do not even believe battery to be a crime, and therefore since it is not illegal, it is obviously not hecked up.

On the moon there are no rules. For all we know, hitting someone on the head with a rock is a friendly gesture.

The term "guys" does imply humans, though, so they would still naturally be tethered by human social rules.

Although you may be correct I am choosing to ignore it and stick with my original opinion. I am never wrong.

I say yes because he could be doing much cooler stuff instead he's being a punk

The question doesn't specify whether it was on purpose, though. We have no way of knowing whether the two astronauts were far apart and one just happened to discover a really cool moon rock and toss it to the other, only to miss somewhat.

how can we discuss the intricacies when there are none given

To assume whether the rock-throwing would be "hecked up" or not, more context is required. For example, how hard was the hit?

A playful, light one would be nothing compared to the various injuries suffered by people traveling in space, and could easily be justified given a context. If the other guy told a bad pun, a playful rock tossing would be not just redeemable, but appropriate, given the lack of other tossable things on the moon. Also, perhaps "one guy" forgot about or was ignorant to the change in gravity, and as such was aiming for the torso (a much better spot for a rock hit among two guys on the moon) and calculating based on Earth's gravity out of habit.

Even if the hit were to be assumed to be malicious, it would be deflected by the other guy's space helmet. In order to truly hit the other guy on the head, the first guy would have to remove the other guy's helmet, an act much more hecked up than hitting his (now dead) head with a rock.

Taking into account these circumstances, it becomes obvious that the answer to the question "would that be hecked up or what?" is a resounding "what".

I'd like to propose an alternative, does the fact that it's a rock (MOON rock) matter on how hecked up it is? Also do they hit the helmet with a rock, do they take off the other guy's helmet and then hit him with the rock (because that's even MORE hecked up)? The details determine how hecked up this actually is but there's no doubt it is hecked up.

In my opinion, the action of one guy hitting the other guy on the head with a rock is abhorrent. Why did he have to hit the guy on the head? And evidence shows that because they were on the moon, the other guy had little defence against this action. Furthermore, shown from them both being on the moon, the guy was hit on the head with a MOON rock, something that would truly hurt. So I will end with saying that this was hecked up. He had no reason to hit the guy on the head, and that is a very despicable action.
