Riddle Island
3 Friends are stranded on an island
- Giga
- Rutab
- Connor
The island has nothing but sand on it.
The island is flat, and has the following shape:

BD= 450 meters
There is no tree or anything behind which you can hide from sight.
No matter where you are on the island, you can see anybody who is standing or sitting or sleeping anywhere on the island.
Each one is wearing a shirt, shorts, undergarments, pair of shoes and pair of stockings.
Giga has a lighter which can give you a flame for exactly 2 hours. The lighter is exactly 10 cms long.
Rutab has a gun with exactly 1 bullet in it. One bullet can kill only one person. He can't use that bullet to kill two people by firing it through one of them. The bullet always bursts inside the body on impact. The gun is exactly 30cms long.
Connor has I-Phone 6. He has switched it off to save battery, when he figured that his phone can stay on for exactly 6 hours. He does not have his phone charger. There no connection to make a phone call. There is no time lag when he switches his phone on/off. It happens instantly. So he can use the phone for 6 hours exactly. The phone is exactly 20cms long.
Kerry has a special power. She can find the location of Connor if she is not able to talk to Connor for 168 hours. She talked to Connor exactly 24 hours before theTime= t. She can't find his location unless those 168 hours pass. Once she finds him, she takes 24 hours to reach connor with food supply enough for several days.
Once she finds the location, she can ask Pranay to retrieve Connor from any corner of the planet.
They have food supplies for exactly 72 hours. They will die at exactly t+72. Where t is the time when they started on the island.
There is no fish near the shore, or even within their reach. No food on the island. But if one of them happens to eat 10Kg of flesh of the other person, they can survive another 24 hours.
Giga weighs 80 Kgs
Connor weighs 60Kgs
Rutab weighs 90 Kgs
Lets assume all the weight belongs to the flesh
Also each one of them knows that Pranay will find them if they stay on the island for exactly t+240 hours
Pranay will rescue everyone alive on the island
Each one of them requires sleep for exactly 6 hours after 18 hours of being awake, else they will die. This means they always sleep at the same time. One can’t be killed if they are awake. Even if the person in front is holding a gun.
Connor can get a signal on his phone if he manages to keep his phone in a position such that the line joining the phone and connor’s shoes is parallel to the line joining rutab’s gun and giga’s lighter, and the length of the line is same. He gets just one try. So if they do hit and trial, it wont work.
Each one of them knows about all the above
What each one of them can do so that
- All 3 survive (whether possible or not)
- 2 of them can survive ( mention for all combinations, whichever possible)
- Can survive alone (for all those that is possible)
